Ranbir intimidates photographer, snatches phone

Something seems to be the matter with an otherwise affable Ranbir Kapoor. Of late, the actor seems to be in a foul mood, especially with the media.

A few days ago, we told you about Kapoor Jr asking journos to leave him alone

(Ranbir: How does the media come to know about my whereabouts?, April 13th).

Something similar happened last night as well. Only this time around, it was far worse.

Around 11 pm, a press photographer spotted Ranbir leaving his Bandstand (Bandra) home. As any media person on duty would do, the photo-journalist followed the actor.

Turned out, he was going to pick up his best friend Ayan Mukerji from the latter’s Khar home.

The Tamasha actor seemed to be in a good mood, but it lasted only till he saw the photo-journalist. A miffed Ranbir beckoned the photographer inside the building and gave him a verbal lashing. He told the latter, “Why do you guys keep chasing me? Everywhere I go, be it my home or even the family doctor’s clinic, I see you following me. Just leave me alone.”

The matter did not end with the dressing down. Kapoor Jr snatched the photo-journalist’s phone away and kept it in his pocket. When the latter requested for it to be returned, Ranbir asked him to collect it later.

Soon after, the actor and his filmmaker bestie zoomed off to enjoy a nice dinner somewhere. Meanwhile, the photographer, whose only fault was that he was a conscientious worker, kept waiting for Ranbir to return his phone.

No food, no water. Just a long wait.

And that wait ended around 3 am, when Ranbir and Ayan returned. On spotting the helpless photo-journalist waiting at the gate, the actor beckoned him inside.

Once again, the Kapoor scion started ranting. The media guy had to nod his head in agreement even if he did not agree with a word Ranbir said. His phone was at stake, na?

We doubt if the photographer in question will leave his call of duty, but we sincerely hope Ranbir becomes a bit more courteous.
